3Laws
Control Barrier Functions provide a means for ensuring that a robotic system stays within a pre-defined safe region without impacting productivity.
The math was originally invented by 3Laws Founder Professor Aaron Ames in the context of provably-safe adaptive cruise control for automobiles. Andrew Singletary and Thomas Gurriet did their PhD theses under Professor Ames on adapting this math to a variety of robotic systems before co-founding 3Laws to bring the technology to mass production.
Since its introduction in 2014, Control Barrier Functions have made a name for themselves as a foundational technology for safety-critical control, receiving broad academic acceptance and seeing use in aerospace and automotive. Now, 3Laws is bringing this technology to any system that moves.
