Mike Benvenuti is a member of the Investment Committee of OC Cove Fund I, LLC. He is an active Expert in Residence at UCI Applied Innovation, and an advisor or board member with several early stage startups. Mr. Benvenuti was previously a service sector business executive with a long history in recurring revenue business where keeping customers for life is the key to building shareholder value. In 1985, he joined the nascent wireless industry, was an early stage employee for PacTel Cellular that had an IPO as AirTouch in 1994 and was purchased by Vodafone in 1999 for approximately $62B. Subsequently, he held positions of Senior Vice President, Divisional President and Chief Operating Officer for both private and publicly held companies in the education sector. Mr. Benvenuti received a BS (cum laude) in Civil Engineering and an MBA in Finance from UC Irvine.
Howard Mirowitz is a member of the Investment Committee of OC Cove Fund I, LLC, the Selection Committee of EvoNexus, and Tech Coast Angels. In his consulting practice, he advises private equity firms investing in high-tech businesses. He sits on the Boards or Advisory Boards of several startups and on the Advisory Board of the University of California, Irvine’s Beall Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, where he also has taught courses in Entrepreneurship and New Product Development. Previously, he co-managed Mitsubishi Electric’s U.S. high-tech incubator, which developed the technology for the first smart phones, returning over $150M on under $10M of investment, and led Mitsubishi’s North American product planning and product management function. He also worked at Western Digital, Microdata Corporation and Touche Ross, a predecessor of Deloitte & Touche. Mr. Mirowitz received a BA (cum laude) from Dartmouth College and an MBA from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School.
Dr. paul voois
Dr. Paul Voois is a member of the Investment Committee of OC Cove Fund I, LLC and the Selection Committee of EvoNexus, and is Vice President of Tech Coast Angels’ Orange County chapter. As an entrepreneur, Dr. Voois established a track record of building valuable companies with unique, defensible technology in the networking, communications and software industries. In 2002 he co-founded ClariPhy Communications, a venture-backed supplier of optical networking semiconductors that was acquired by Inphi (NYSE:IPHI) for $300M in 2016. He served as ClariPhy’s CEO until 2011 and as Chief Strategy Officer until its acquisition. Prior to founding ClariPhy, he served as CEO of 8x8 (NASDAQ:EGHT), a market leader in voice and video over IP technology. Dr. Voois received an MS and PhD from Stanford and a B.S. (summa cum laude) from Penn State, all in electrical engineering. He is an inventor on 27 issued United States patents.

Don M. Bailey
Don is the former CEO of Questcor, a specialty pharmaceutical company sold to Mallinckrodt in 2014 for $5.8 billion. While CEO, the stock of QCOR increased over 22,000% as sales increased from $10 million to $1 billion annually. Prior to QCOR, Mr. Bailey served as Chairman of the Board and CEO of Comarco, and has served as an advisor, board member and investor in a number of start‐ups. He earned a BSME from Drexel University and an MBA from Pepperdine.
Michael currently invests in rapidly growing companies, on behalf of Mark IV Capital. Prior to joining Mark IV Capital, Michael created and operated AT&T’s Aspire Accelerator which invests in and mentors the most promising and innovated Ed-tech startups. Michael graduated with an MBA from Pepperdine’s Gradazio School of Business and holds a BS from Ball State University.
Bruce is a co-founder of Miramar Digital Ventures. With over two decades of collaborations with technology entrepreneurs, Bruce co-leads Miramar investments in the Data, IoT and AI markets. Prior to founding Miramar, Bruce was Managing Partner of the Brobeck, Phleger & Harrison Orange County office, where he managed IPOs, venture financings and liquidity events for many high profile technology companies in SoCal.
John is a Manager of OC Cove Fund I, LLC. He has been the CEO of several early stage companies including two that he founded. His prior experience includes a six-year period with McKinsey & Company, Inc. As an “angel investor” he has invested in over fifty companies, more than thirty of which are still active. He is one of the original founders of Tech Coast Angels and remains active in that organization. John has a BSIE from Stanford University and an MBA from Harvard Graduate School of Business.
Mr. Malas is a Principal and Co-Founder of IRA Capital. His responsibilities include raising equity for IRA’s private funds and syndicated offerings, while overseeing the firm’s overall investment strategy. Mr. Malas is also the President and CEO of Dana Investments, a full service real estate operating company he established in 1984. Throughout his career, Mr. Malas has been directly involved in the acquisition, financing, management, development, and disposition of more than $1 Billion of real estate across all product types.
Fariborz is a pioneer in the field of micro-electro mechanical systems and philanthropist who founded IntelliSense in 1991 and later sold it in 2000. He is the founder and managing principal of Picoco, LLC, an investment management firm, which invests in various assets and manages several proprietary traded hedge funds. He is founder of Kids Institute for Development and Advancement, an Irvine treatment clinic and education facility for autistic children as well as the founder and president of The Massiah Foundation, a charitable organization.
Phil was the former Chairman & CEO of Hillman Ventures, a true pioneer in the field of Private Equity. He founded Paul Capital Partners in 1990, acquiring 42 LP interests in VC and buyout funds from the Hillman family. Phil also founded the Top Tier Fund, with the Government of Singapore that today manages more than $5B, funding funds and co-investing in the venture market. Phil holds a BA from Stanford and a Law Degree from Southwestern University.
Jim is Chairman of Mark IV Capital, Inc., a private commercial real estate development and investment company that was founded in 1974. He is also a founder and manager of Emerald Bay Ventures, LLC., a private investment company. Mr. Slavik is a director of W.W. Grainger and a member of the Board Affairs and Nominating Committee and the Compensation Committee. He also serves as a director of the Hoag Hospital Foundation.
Richard founded Nadek, a data networking design implementation firm, and served clients like Microsoft, Boeing, ARCO, and Universal Studios. Nadek was sold to SAIC, a multi-billion dollar international firm. Today Richard is Executive Director of the Institute for Innovation at U.C. Irvine. He continues to be an active angel investor, and Chairman Emeritus of Tech Coast Angels, the largest angel organization in the U.S. In addition, he serves as Research Committee Chair for Angel Capital Education Foundation, a national organization of angel groups throughout the U.S. Richard also coaches and consults with CEO’s involved with growth challenges.
